Rocky Mountain Goats:
Goats may be the most under-rated trophy animal around. A good billy is a challenge to get, makes a tasty meal, and looks impressive.
Our hunting area covers 8000 square kilometres and boasts some of the best goat hunting in British Columbia. Our 90+% success on goats is indicative of the large population in the area.
The average size horns on billies we have taken in the past 15 years is 9 1/2 inches. At least one of the goats taken each year has been over 10 had over 10 inch horns. We are allotted a limited number of permits each year, so early booking is essential.
Goats stay up high in the warm months. We are fortunate to have some areas accessible using horses and a short walk. Most of our goats are taken on day hikes and a few are overnighters. Spotting goats is the easy part, getting up to them is the challenge.
Late season goats begin to come down from their rocky estates. Getting a goat at a lower elevation is great, but the snow makes it just as much hard work. This late season goats is ready for winter, and has the coat to prove it. The thick fur makes a goat look even more impressive.
